We're three events deep into the '08 AST Dew Tour season, and so far the DC BMX team has simply been killing it. Last weekend their contest successes continued in Portland: Chad Kagy won Vert, Daniel Dhers won Park, and Corey Bohan earned third place in Dirt.
In the Vert finals, Chad came out the gate hot with a great first run that included a barspin to tailwhip, a superman seatgrab indian air, and a flatspin flair whip. A great run, but Jaime Bestwick upped him, forcing Chad to go for an even gnarlier second run. Chad dropped in and nailed a ridiculous double tailwhip flatspin flair, straight into a double tailwhip and later an opposite flair whip. The result: a 95 and Chad's first 2008 Dew Tour win.
In BMX Dirt, Corey kept things tight, stylish, and consistent in his two runs to earn a solid third place. An opposite 360 whip, opposite truckdriver to x-up, barspin to tailwhip and one-footed x-up flip earned Corey a podium-worthy 90.75.
The weekend concluded with BMX Park, and there was a pretty intense battle for that top spot. But Daniel's been a machine all year, winning every Dew Tour park event so far. He was super consistent out there... no falls, no mistakes, and a banger trick on every wall and box made Daniel the clear winner.
Congrats to the team on a great weekend. For videos from each of the events detailed above, visit ridebmx.com.
