COOKE ON HIS TEAMWORKS SHOE

Here, Allan Cooke breaks down the what and why behind his Holiday 2008 BMX TeamWorks project.
I followed the Moto TeamWorks program, and when it was mentioned to me I was all for it. It’s a cool way to put a rider’s touch on a proven product. It’s a dream come true.
I added a few things from my life and what I need from a shoe that it didn’t already have. [The Pure] was my favorite shoe and I wanted to make it a little better.
As far as the colors, my Grandpa played for the ‘49ers in the ‘50s. I am a huge fan of football and the ‘49ers. Those colors just look pimp together.
It’s a #84 (on the heel). That was my Grandpa's number.
Good padding on the ankle. Not a lot more than a normal shoe, but something that won’t get flat in a couple of days.
I like a medium-hard sole and a medium thick tongue. [Besides my TeamWorks shoe] I like the Pure, Voltron and the new Rob Dyrdek.
Leather and suede are easy to keep clean and form to your foot nicely.
Yeah, everyone seems to like the shoe a lot. They see the colors and know why they are what they are.
Mirra is Mirra, what can I say. He's a legend; he showed me and all of BMX what’s possible to do and accomplish in BMX. He's also a good friend.
Kagy is a pit-bull. That guy isn’t scared of s**t and has always been exiting to watch ride since day one.
I met Bohan at his local trails in AUS when he was 17 or 18. It’s been fun being his friend and seeing him grow into the best dirt rider of all time. The best part of it is that he's truly the same kid as when I met him like 7 years ago.
If I were a racecar driver it would be like driving on the Ferrari F1 team. I wouldn’t want to ride for any other shoe company. It doesn’t get any better.
