BOHAN ON HIS TEAMWORKS SHOE

Featured Image 1

Created to honor top members of the DC BMX team and their incredible riding legacies, introducing the first-ever DC BMX TeamWorks Collection. The riders worked closely with DC designers to make the products 100% their own. From colors and materials to the sole patterns and cushioning systems, the premier BMX TeamWorks Collection is a perfect suit to each athlete’s unique performance needs… and a fitting tribute to the still-evolving heritage of the DC BMX team.

The third of four releases from the team, here Corey Bohan breaks down his TeamWorks shoe.

When looking for a shoe to ride in the first thing I look at is the sole’s strength and design.

For BMX, I think a medium-strength sole is important, and it has to be a completely flat sole. My personal preference is a shoe that’s pretty flexy and not too stiff. No air pocket is needed for me.

But, I also want the shoe to look good. I wear black most days and I’m really into a simple but slick looking shoe.

I’m not a huge fan of a glossy finish on a shoe. I like a suede type finish.

The TeamWorks program is great for the DC BMX side of things… it should no doubt be a huge success.

DC mentioned that they wanted to bring together the BMX team and help create a really well rounded shoe program for each of us. I was called up about the idea, and it was on.

When this idea was presented [all] I wanted to do was create an awesome BMX shoe. I wanted a shoe that looks killer and is sick to ride in, and a shoe that people want.

It’s a chance to let out your personality through a shoe that will be in stores and kids faces all over the world. Having a shoe with such a respected company is a real treat. These opportunities are rare, and it’s a special thing.

I have mentioned that I have a DC TeamWorks shoe to friends all over the world—plus family and hot chicks—and everyone’s been psyched and keen to see the products I came up with.

Ever since being welcomed to the team in 2003 it’s felt natural. The entire team was happy for me to be a part of it and I get along great with all the riders. It’s a pretty rad team and I’m more than proud to be riding for DC.

As a brand I think DC is very well respected around the globe and they have all aspects of our sports covered. The riders and employees are kick arse, and are great to party with!
